So here is one more video from Web 2.0 SF I liked. This time it is example of transition from Flash to HTML5. In this case a successful one

So video is about a Scribd a site that uses Flash and is going trough transition to HTML5. It is site to read books, joruanls and other stuff that is very rich in fonts and graphics. Something that was not quite possible to show well before mostly because of fonts. But with HTML5 adoption it becomes possible. And they decided to make a HTML5 version. And they say and show they succeed. From parts they showed it does look impressive. Would be interesting to see more and more such projects and seeing RIA made in HTML5/JS environment.

With Chrome impressive JS speeds, many HTML5 features that finally make web more multimedia friendly and even WebGL coming slowly(it seems that holding web back becomes IE tradition). There is still a lot needed to be done to finally make web without plugins RIA friendly but such developments are promising.
