		<description>Hmm, hard to figure out what you did from first glance. Could you shortly describe idea behind you solution? May be I will port it to AS3.
Though as I mentioned above I do not have that @ problem with my experiments above so may be I do not need it :)</description>

Also since I wrote this post situation did change, there were changes to Chrome and FF that changed that behavior, mostly to the better but still not perfect. Chrome for some cases acts as Opera by always being in English no meter which language you have selected right now. </description>

i had hard times to get the &quot;@&quot; symbol to work in input-textfields (firefox 4.0.1). Strange enough in an older release it worked ( 3.x.x, can´t remember exactly).

I found out that from the three type of input fields the at symbol only works in one (the one with &quot;window&quot; mode).
